A Life Devoted to Music
Michael Allen Walker has spent a lifetime dedicated to his passion for music—playing, performing, writing, and producing. As a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and educator, he built a successful career in artist development through his company, Dreamwalker Music Evolution, located in Central Florida. However, after years of nurturing other artists, he decided to focus on his own music, embracing his artistry and releasing original tracks.
A Family Affair: Songwriting with Caroline
Several years ago, Michael Allen Walker began writing songs alongside his wife, Caroline, drawing inspiration from their combined life experiences and mutual love of country music. Their influences include legendary artists like Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, George Jones, and Charley Pride from his childhood, as well as Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, beloved by Caroline. With his genre-transcending musical taste, Michael Allen Walker's self-produced songs blend diverse influences, offering listeners something unique. In 2023, he released his first instrumental track, "Wind Walker," followed by sixteen singles that showcase his range as an artist.
Early Beginnings: From Philly to Florida
Growing up in Philadelphia, Michael Allen Walker picked up his first guitar at the age of thirteen and quickly became captivated, practicing up to eight hours a day. His early guitar influences included Joe Satriani, Randy Rhodes, and Yngwie Malmsteen. He further honed his craft by studying classical guitar with Charles Bell and jazz guitar with pioneering musician John Dougherty.
At just eighteen, after the loss of both parents, he found himself on his own and relied on his musical abilities to make a living. Teaching guitar lessons and working at a local amplifier company helped him find stability. Drawn by the vibrant music scene, he relocated to Central Florida in his early twenties, where his career continued to flourish. Michael Allen Walker performed as a session guitarist, contributed tracks for major artists, and played in bands while growing his music instruction business.
Grammy Recognition and Major Performances
In 2005, Michael Allen Walker's band, "Rule of 7," earned a Grammy Award for the Florida Unsigned Bands Showcase. Although the band eventually parted ways, he continued to perform with other groups, opening for iconic acts such as Pat Benatar, The Charlie Daniels Band, Jake Owen, Scotty McCreery, and Colt Ford. His extensive experience reflects not only his talent but also his perseverance and dedication to his craft.
Family, Eagles, and New Music
Today, Michael Allen Walker and Caroline share four adult children, one of whom is already making waves in local bands, following in his father’s footsteps. When he’s not writing or recording music, Michael Allen Walker enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. His hope is that his music resonates with listeners who appreciate heartfelt storytelling, coupled with the occasional long and soulful guitar solo.
Looking Ahead: Sharing Music with the World
With a prolific catalog of songs and decades of musical experience, Michael Allen Walker is eager to share his music with new audiences. His songs, rooted in genuine emotion and crafted with skill, promise to strike a chord with anyone who loves a good story and great music.
